Thoughts of summer

Today's blog is a little airy. Sorry but today I am in a kind of thoughtful, reflective mood.
Summer approaches and I am reminded of sipping iced tea on the back porch with Grandma and Grandpa. With hair as yellow as the sun and tanned skin that rivaled some of my now countrymen. How I miss those days of not a care in the world, playing cars, walks to the store with Grandma/Nanny. Putting together puzzles, and watching the Muppet show with Mom and Dad on Saturday nights with a big box of fried chicken.(In my part of the woods back then they gave us a box that was printed to look like a train car) I know that looking back things always seem rosier than they really were but those were good, rich times. I miss them. Yes summer makes me think of all the good things in life. Watermelon juice running down your chin as you bite into that first sugarfilled piece. The smell of fresh cut grass. The laughter of children running through a sprinkler. Women in small, dainty, white summer dresses. Walks in the evening while the sun is setting and the cool night's breeze is blowing with the faint scent of jasmine in the air. A walk in a neatly tended garden.
Oh one last bit of news. In case you missed it on CNN or one of the news channels. They found another chapter of the Bible. Here is how the story read;
Here is the LOST CHAPTER IN GENESIS....
Adam was walking around the garden of Eden feeling very lonely, so God asked him,
"What is wrong with you?"
Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to.
God said that He was going to make Adam a companion and that it would be a woman.
He said,
"This person will gather food for you, cook for you, and when you discover clothing she'll wash it for you. She will always agree with every decision you make. She will bear your children and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them. She will not nag you and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement. She will never have a headache and will freely give you love and passion whenever you need it.

Adam asked God, "What will a woman like this cost?"
God replied, "An arm and a leg."
Then Adam asked, "What can I get for a rib?"
The rest is history..

(See what happens when you bargain kiddie's?)

But God did make those women. He just did not send them to the U.S. He sent them all to Mexico.
