10 days

Well our departure date is rapidly approaching. Only 10 days until we leave.
I found out long ago, it's a long way down that holiday road. . .
Hopefully our trip will go better than Chevy's.
For those of you interested our first day will be from Colorado Springs to El Paso. From there we will travel to Jiminez, Mexico and stay at some 4 star Mexican hotel.(Sorry I forget the name) Then we travel to Zacatecas. The last day will be from Zacatecas to Puerto Vallarta. I am not looking forward to 4 days on the road with a 2 year old. But hey it will all be worth it in the end. I plan on spending the first few days passed out on the beach drinking Corona's and eating shrimp and crab-legs. Maybe a margarita or Mohito too. The temperature will be much better that is for sure. Our high here in Colorado Springs is only supposed to be in the 60's tomorrow. (Side note-that is the average low for February nights in Puerto Vallarta.)

Getting ready. . .

This weekend I got the car ready. Balanced and rotated the tires. Changed the air filter. Flushed and filled the antifreeze and changed all the belts in the car. Here's hoping we don't break down. I'll change the oil next week. Sorry pretty boring post. More interesting ones to come. Until then enjoy this artwork.

Resignation!!!!

Today I gave my 2 week resignation notice. WHAT AN AWESOME FEELING! As long as the closing goes well and takes place on the 8th like it is scheduled we are good as gold. Just made the reservations at our hotels on the way and got my Mexican car insurance. (Only $220 for an entire year of full coverage) My work is hurting for people now pretty bad they just lost 3 of us this week. 1/5 of their workforce gone. OUCH!!! Gee I kind of feel bad for them. . . . .WOW that passed quick. I feel great!:)

Feeling Blue

Today I am feeling blue. I said my good bye's(More of see you later's as I'll be back in a few months)to a few family members, but it was sad knowing I will not be able to get into a car and just go visit people. It is really hard making the decision to move and leave the people you love behind. You can only hope you are making the best decision for you and your family and pray. I know we will be OK money-wise because we will have no bills to pay and Leti can work pretty much as soon as we get down there, but it is scary also. A new country with new laws to learn, a (fairly)new language to learn and a new business to start. Today is a day of introspection, life analysis and listening to the blues. After all hearing about some poor schmuck's situation who is worse than mine will always cheer you up. Right? :(

Quiet Sunday

Not much happening today.
Went to the Lord's house, ate one of our last dinners out in America.
Time for packing. . . .

Tribute to a great show. . .

Just read an article in People magazine paying tributes to shows of the 90's. It had an update on my all time favorite TV show and here you see the cast as of today. Northern Exposure. I HIGHLY recommend you see it if you never have. DVD's of season 1-4 are out now and seasons 5 & 6 are soon to come. At a time when Jerry Springer and Reality TV shows are king we all need something more substantial to fill our free time.

Back to the grind. . . . .
Today it is back to work. We have the house inspection today and a new roof is getting put on also. Meanwhile I am stuck at work making sure people get the most for their entertainment dollar. I've been at this job just over 10 years. That is enough. :)

Today is the day the Lord hath made, we will rejoice and be glad in it. -Psalms 118:24
